Katie Prescott est venue à l’Atelier d’estampe Imago offrir un atelier d’impression typographique le 22 mai 2022.
Originaire de Cornwall, en Grande-Bretagne, Katie est maintenant établie en Nouvelle-Écosse. Elle a une formation en photographie et adore faire des images et apprendre de nouvelles techniques. Katie s'initie à l'impression typographique depuis quelques années. Le lent processus consistant à trouver les bonnes lettres et à créer des mots l’inspire pour imprimer des dessins graphiques et des phrases significatives.
Katie a sa propre petite imprimerie, Woodshed Press, installée dans un vieux bûcher au bord de la baie de Fundy à Port George, en Nouvelle-Écosse, où elle s'occupe d'imprimer toutes ses idées, souvent inspirées par la nature et le climat de la Nouvelle-Écosse.
Au cours de l'atelier, Katie nous montrera le processus de mise en place et d'impression d'un dessin typographique et les participants auront la chance d’imprimer leur propre carte postale typographique. Cet atelier est présenté en partenariat avec le Festival Frye.

Katie is originally from Cornwall in Britain, now happily settled in Nova Scotia. She has a background in professional film photography and loves making images and learning new processes. Katie has been teaching herself letterpress printing for the last few years, the slow process of finding the correct letters and creating words inspires her to print graphic designs and meaningful sentences.
Katie has her own little print shop, Woodshed Press, housed in an old woodshed right by the Bay of Fundy in Port George, Nova Scotia, where she keeps busy printing up all her ideas, often inspired by the nature and weather around Nova Scotia.
During the workshop, Katie will show us the process of setting up and printing a letterpress design. Participants will then create their own design to print a few post cards of their own. This workshop is presented in partnership with Frye Festival.
