Laura Demers est artiste-commissaire franco-ontarienne œuvrant à Toronto. Elle s'intéresse à la matérialité instable des médiums analogiques — le cyanotype, le dessin, la photographie argentique, etc. — pour créer des images ouvertes à l'infiltration de traces ou de procédés naturels. Son travail curatorial lui permet aussi de se pencher sur des questionnements entourant la nature et l'espace et de s’interroger sur la matérialité changeante de notre environnement. Ses œuvres ont été présentées à Art Mûr, Idea Exchange, Trinity Square Video, au Centre Sagamie, à L'Écart, à la Galerie d’art Louise-et-Reuben-Cohen, ainsi que dans des espaces DIY. Elle est cofondatrice de la galerie autogérée the plumb.
Laura Demers is in residence at Imago Artist-Run Print Studio from November 1 to 20.

Laura Demers is a Franco-Ontarian artist-curator working in Toronto. She is interested in the unstable materiality of analog mediums — cyanotype, drawing, film photography, etc. — and creates images that are open to the infiltration of traces or natural processes. Her curatorial work also allows her to examine questions surrounding nature and space and to question the changing materiality of our environment. Her works have been presented at Art Mûr, Idea Exchange, Trinity Square Video, Centre Sagamie, L'Écart, the Louise-et-Reuben-Cohen art gallery, as well as in DIY spaces. She is co-founder of the artist-run gallery the plumb.
